I received an email from Blendmount a few minutes ago, you can now preorder rearview mirror mounts for the C7 for Escort Passport Max, Escort/Belltronics and Valentine One. I ordered mine for $129 + shipping, but I just received a second email offering a discount for friends. If you follow this link, you should receive 10% off. Enjoy! Looks cool but how do you hide the smart cord... I mount mine low, run cord through the 'oh sh&t' handle and it's out of way mostly.

I don't see any way this would work with a SmartCord. Anyone else?

Thanks. Good looking out. I already have one. Mine is right here:

Looking for a trusted installer in Houston area. Any suggestions?
I use the BlendMount on several of my other cars and prefer it over all others. The BlendMount is both low-key and very sturdy. It has far less wobble than any other removable type mount I've ever seen. Planning on using SmartCord Live Direct Wire for the power and a BlendMount to hold my device. If this works on my Stingray, using it on my other sports cars, too. Unless someone has a better idea (God, I hope someone has a better idea).

Raydor, would you mind posting a picture of the actual direct wire live cord unit? I presume it has to have a blue tooth component somewhere on the cord making it difficult to 'hide' out of sight.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for Jeff,

This is from the escort web site and I assume this is the head unit that must be placed somewhere within easy reach for muting and Bluetooth connectivity, maybe in the cup holder?

Thanks Ken. I saw that but wasn't sure how/where the hard wire runs in relation to that unit. That's why I asked Raydor who has one to take a pic. So far even with the BlendMount I haven't seen anything that is worth the $$$ over just using the excellent windshield mount that comes with the MAX and the LIVE cord. I have been quite happy with mounting the MAX on the very front of the roof panel and having the thin LIVE cord drop straight down to the accessory outlet in the front of the center consul. Odds are if I have the roof panel off I am out enjoying the drive and scenery and well within the posted speed limits- if necessary I would mount it to the windshield directly behind and just below the mirror. More enthusiastic driving is done with the roof panel in place. The roof panel mounting works extremely well and since I plug my Android into the LIVE plug unit, all of the relevant information that isn't announced by the MAX shows clearly on my Android screen.

I will be happy to. Will try to have it up after dinner. By the way, the LIVE cord is not thin. It is about twice as thick as the regular power cord for the Escort. It is fairly chunky.

Thanks, as to the cord's thickness all things are relative. I don't have any issue with it hanging straight down from the unit to the accessory plug.

When I get a chance, I will include a picture of the two cords side-by-side so you can see the relative thickness of the SmartCord compared to the normal power cord. My friends are here and we are going outside to play, so it will be after midnight.

Is there an easy way to directly wire power to radar detectors near the rear view mirror?

Do a search for the official radar detector thread. You will find a write up with pictures.

Sorry I'm late. Thursday night is just like Friday and Saturday around here. This is the Display Module and related cords. The kit also includes a mounting bracket and cord guide hardware.
