I'm not sure how much quieter, the quieter version is, anyone experienced both? I'm new to power adders to this degree, is the procharger meant to add more to the top end power or low which I believe would be something like roots, magnuson? Is that correct?

Hey Zimm, how are you?

This unit has the straight cut gears which do whine. It is audible with hood closed. I personally think it sounds mean, and like a Procharger should, but some folks want it quiet. Procahrger offers a helical gear set option which is quieter. How much, probably by about half. You'll still hear it.

The centrifugal blowers make power as they spin...so the higher the RPM the greater the boost output.

The top mount blowers like the Eforce, make peak torque much sooner in the powerband - almost instantly, and tend to fall off as RPM increases (usually due to heat soak). We recommend top mount units for guys looking for street light to street light instant torque. The guys who want more efficient positive displacement, lower IATs, and who race their vehicles at the track we recommend the centrifugal blowers. Both at the end of the day do the same thing, they just do it differently.
