1) you are really the only person who can decide whether or not you want a C8
2) are you currently having any issues with your valve lifters? Arbitration is the normal route.

Sorry, but IMO if you were going to steer clear of a car that has 'known issues' by even a very small percentage of all owners, you probably will not end up purchasing any OEM car.

I purchased two new Honda Accords, new 1998 Ford Explorer, new 2001 VW Super Beetle and a new 2010 Toyota Prius with over 2,000 complaints so I can easily accept a 2012 C6 or 2018 C7 with under 50 complaints each. However an extra $30k over a used C7 puts me into a new C8 Stingray Convertible. Age is harder on a car than miles.

Depends on the miles.

A total of 59 plaintiffs. Millions of cars with small block Chevys with AFM. Hardly sounds like a major, common issue. If it was frequent, this and other Corvette forums would be filled with complaints. How many do you see? Google any brand / model of car followed by the word "problems" and you might be afraid to ever buy a car again.

My C7 had 36,000 trouble free miles on it when I sold it. I know lots of C7 owners locally, and I'm not aware anyone has had a problem with valve lifters.

Oh, the C8 has the same AFM technology as the C7.
