I placed an order recently in western Canada and was told by dealer to expect deliveries around May or June in time for summer since GM is about to switch to 24 hour production however nothing is guaranteed. Anyone can confirm this bit of info?

Tadge Juechter, Corvette Executive Chief Engineer, when asked whether he was going to add a second shift, noted that while demand is very strong the beginning of a new generation Corvette, it has historically tailed off toward end of the generation (of course exacerbated during the 6th generation because of the "Great Recession." He unequivocally stated he was not adding a second shift.

Think while your dealer might wish for added shifts, especially because only 300 StingRays were allocated for Canada for the 2014 model year, it is not going to happen. GM can manufacture 32,000+ StingRays per year, and they are not planning to add a second shift, let alone 24 hour production.

GM will catch up on the huge demand from the beginning of generation 7, and more and more StingRays will be shipped to Canada.

I am around 7, 8 on the list is the may june time for delivery resonable or a line of bs? If the dealer gets 2 3 a months like they say then it sounds about right, but not sure if allocations are assigned monthly..

Each dealer know what their allotment is from the start. My dealer only gets three. I get their last one.

this will be tough for you to get a handle on unless you have a serious discussion with your dealer, preferably the GM of the dealership itself. you have to know the following:

1. how many allocations your dealer has left for MY2014
2. how many people are in front of you with an order that looks like yours, i.e., base or Z51
3. how many allocations they receive per week, meaning how many orders they can ACTUALLY PLACE

My local dealer (with my deposit) had 20 allocations for phase II of MY2014 and eight people in front of me wanting a Z51. Their problem, come to find out (after leaning on them), was that they could only get an order accepted every two or three weeks. Best-case scenario was that my order would be accepted in 18 weeks (counting down from February 10th) and then I had another 6-8 weeks of wait time to take delivery. I wasn't about to wait for a MY2014 in Aug/Sept when the 2015 would be right around the corner and cancelled on the spot. I had to have Cyber Grey (MY2014 color only) and turned to a forum dealer to meet my timeline of an April delivery. Sure, I had to jump through a bunch of hoops to suddenly sell my current weekender, but I knocked that out this week and now I get to sit back and wait just a few weeks to get into my Stingray. For me personally, it's well worth it to actually get a car then try to deal with the local network in this case.

So this one dealer gets 10% of Canada's stingrays? I find that hard to believe.
