In the never ending battle between Ford and Chevy performance enthusiasts, this video of a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray against a 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang has stirred up some controversy as the far less powerful Corvette holds its own against the most powerful Mustang ever.

As you can see in the video below, the 2014 Corvette Stingray quickly and effortlessly rips away from the start on the third honk and within a few seconds, the new Stingray pulls out to a pretty impressive lead over the GT500. Unfortunately for GM fans, about ten seconds in the GT500 begins to pull hard on the Corvette and blasts around him as the advantage in power takes over.

However, most of these battles will take place outside of the friendly confines of a closed circuit so this video shows that a well driven 2014 Corvette has a very real chance of hurting the feelings of 2014 Mustang GT500 owners in a short sprint away from a stop light. A little confused here!

In the video the driver of the Corvette says he let off at 120 but you state the GT500 blast by the Corvette… well I have 4 door shit boxes blast by my Corvette all day when I let off! LOL

What I think the driver of the C7 said that once the Mustang caught up and passed him he let off the gas and was doing 120mph at the time. To me that's pretty impressive that the mustang only finally caught up going above 120 and with the mustang have an over 200hp advantage. so this tells me the Z06 will kick butt even still with less hp.

It's not HP but torque that creates that pull. No doubt the 'sting has more. Vette's advantage is less weight.

Gt500 has a traction issue. If you had same tires on it as the vette is would be faster of the line like it is a speed.
Its also the wrong car to compare to a Mustang I think Camaro z28 would be more comparable. 4 seater to 4 seater

On a horsepower for horsepower basis....if the Corvette had 662 horsepower like the Shelby GT 500....the Corvette would stomp the 'stangs ASS! The Vette is SO MUCH BETTER than the Ford it isn't funny! Just to satisfy my curiosity, I looked at a Shelby GT 500. I was less than impressed with the overall car and some of the cheeseball features! But if Allan Mulally ever engineers the mustang like the Corvette...that would be something for Ford. I doubt it will happen. Corvette all the way!

This video confirms 2 things: 1) Hole shots win drag races. 2) In a straight line, with the exception of the hole shot, the Mustang walked all over the Stingray. Not even close.
