It's my first day and second post on the forum, although I've been reading posts here for several months. I bought my 2016 blade silver, 1LT coupe in September after 15 years of driving Mercedes C class sports sedans.
My wife has driven Ford Explorer for the past 20 years (this is her 6th), and when I decided I no longer needed a four door sedan, I began a process that led me to my C7. I'm the only occupant of my car close to 99% of the time, so I wanted a two seater. But I wanted the biggest two seater at the lowest price point. The C7 coupe was the winner in a search that began at the 2015 New York Auto Show.
We were working at the Mazda exhibit, and there was a 2015 Sunrise Orange coupe with kalahari interior on display. I had never even been in a Corvette before, but when I got in it felt right! I thought, "I could do this!"
After researching, comparing and learning more about the Corvette and it's history, it was a done deal.
I got a great deal from Schumacher Chevrolet in Little Falls, NJ and am thrilled, excited and full of expectation to drive every day. The reactions of others to the car, all over the top pleasant, take a while to get used to. There was a school bus full of kids, with faces pressed against the windows waving or giving the "thumbs up" sign. And there was the day when the passenger in the car next to me starts taking cell phone photos. And then there are drivers who expect you to drive in a deviant manner. You quickly understand there is
a different responsibility in driving this car as it is one of the most powerful machines on the road.
I enjoy the experience and hope to continue for at least the next 100-thousand miles. :smug:
