Have 2015 stingray 2lt none z51 package auto a8,zf1,mmp exhaust.when driving in 6th,7th,and 8th gear around 1500rpms i get a vibration howling noise coming from the rear area, does it more on flat driving area. Sometimes up and down hill but most of the time on flat roads, have taken to one dealer now and they don't know what it is and cant find the problem and yes they can hear it and have driven other 15's to see if they all do it and they dont, so they are stuck and just say its normal for the exhaust i have.

Also the rear end is clunking in slow traffic. Also telling me this is normal.

Do have a case # and taking it to another dealer tomorrow so we will see what they say.

Have found one other on here with the same problem as mine but his is not fixed and looking for someone that knows of this issue.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Those sounds are clear an indication that something is failing. Hope your new dealer can quickly diagnose and fix your issues (though they can clearly be interrelated, even the same part/system).

Thanks for posting back what you learn there.

Which dealer are you using SHRKRAY? The NPP exhaust does not cause any vibration nor howling. As to 'clunking' that is subjective- when it shifts from V4 to V8 there will be a subtle clunk (felt not heard) as well as sometimes when drops into 1st such as slowing down and stopping at a red light.

I'm the one other. Still waiting to hear something back from open case #71-1395903386. No tranny clunk, but the werewolf lives. The wow wow wow howl reminds me of what the tires sound like on the back of a semi when you pass one on the interstate. Thread I started:

I had the car at Henderson Chevrolet and when I went to talked to them they said it was normal and to take the car and safe to drive. I have called Chevrolet customer service and taken the car to another dealer for repair. they have told me that it's not normal that the service writer and the tech both say that it has a problem and they are sending a GM engineer to look at the car. So at the shop till then. I am not happy about all this and have not even really enjoyed the car since I got it.

Sorry for your troubles SHRKRAY, but glad you have gotten someone's attention. Hope you will keep us updated (especially me!) and that you get this resolved soon so you can enjoy your Stingray.

I've got a 15 non Z51 A8 w/NPP and I am getting the exact same howling noise. Car only has 400 miles. Won't be able to take back until Spring. Weather around here really sucks! Hope the muffler is the problem and not the trany! Keith

I wonder if you could be experiencing the symptoms of low diff fluid... This is an known issue, and a number of us have encountered low diff fluid. Fortunately, it's easily checked and corrected.

Although my diff fluid was low, I didn't notice any unusual "howling".

The first thing I did when I picked it up at the dealer I asked did you check the diff fluid. Answer we check all of them. They knew about the low diff problem. Bud's Chevy St. Mary's, OH

Reason for waiting until Spring Bud's is about an hour drive from where I live and I wouldn't let the local Chevy dealers put air in my tires!
