I am in the market for a 7-speed manual C7 Stingray. Before buying it, I like to experience how well it works for my style of driving. I check out local C7 rental companies, like Hertz and Enterprise. However, they only carry automatic. None of the Chevy dealer I visited has demo car for test drive. Short of going to out-of-state Corvette driving schools, I wonder if there are other venues prospective C7 buyers can try?

Depending on where you live in N. Ca. My local dealer has a white 7M Coupe on their lot. I don't c why they wouldn't let a perspective buyer try her out.
PM me for details if you're interested.

I'm also in NorCal. The M7 with rev matching just brings a grin from ear-to-ear when driving the backroad twisties. I installed a short throw shifter which, at least for me, works a lot better than the stock shifter. I also installed a CAGS eliminator which helps out in around town driving and bumper-to-bumper Freeway traffic driving.

May be joining you as to replacing the stock shifter.
Had dealer align it yesterday now better but
not perfect. C6 shifter on Grand Sport was
perfect. This M7 is a piece of you know what.
Given the cost of a 2014 C7 I don't think
asking for a smooth shifter is out of line.

If you were up here in Toronto, I'd let you go for a spin. Of course with me in the right seat!

I've let 2 others try mine out that I knew were looking to buy. Up here there are almost no cars available for test drives, since over 90% are factory orders.

Wow, smackYYZ, I really appreciate your generosity. I will definitely take up you offer should I visit Toronto. Some years back, I visited my friends in Vancouver.

I cant help you find a place in the south to drive a manual. But, if you're in New England you drive one by going to: Sports Car Rental | New England Corvette - Billerica, MA

I wanted to also drive a manual to see if that was the direction I wanted to go.. On November 8th my wife and I went to see Mike, the gentleman who operates/owns NE Corvette Rentals, and rented a 2014 Z51 with magnetic ride control for 1/2 day. Mike has an auto, 7M convertible or coupe options available. He takes his time to show all the buttons, knobs and gauges in the car. Lets you get a feel to make sure you're comfotable before you "take off" so to speak.

As I was not from the area (traveled 125 miles to get there) he has preplanned routes if you care to use one. I used one that he plugged into the NAV system and it took me on highways, back roads, over a covered bridge and all the fun of shifting the 7M on those twisted roads! When I got back I knew my new C7 was going to be a 7M!

After that we drove the short distance to MacMulkin to see the rainbow of colors offered and all the various options available from over 50 new Vettes on site under one building. The day ended with my wife telling me to put a deposit on a car to lock down the pricing.

Thanks to Mike at NE Corvette I not only found out I wanted a 7M but helped with other questions that really can't be answered unless you get behind the wheel. My wife figured out what color we should get after visiting MacMulkins ....... AW.
