So I finally took delivery of my stingray yesterday and I'm completely obsessed with it. I would upload photos but for some reason the mobile app says my permission settings won't allow me. Anyways the only exterior mod I'm considering is installing the Z06 grill if I can find the part. I'm also wondering how many of you are following Glen E's lead and removing the corvette text from the back and the stingray logos. I'm thinking it will make the car look sleeker. Am I being sacrilegious in the corvette world? ?

The Stingray Logo is a modernized version of the one originally used on the 1959 Stingray concept car.
If you appreciate Corvette history you should consider leaving it on the car.

Actually since they came out with carbon flash badges for everything, mine is back to stock with that kit...lol My problem was more the cheap plastic chrome look that the badge itself. When they finally made the fish in flash, it went back on.

Never really cared what is "right" or "heritage" - only what looks good to me....

I love the history lesson this is awesome. Is there any significance to the corvette text in the rear? Did the original stingrays have the model designation?

I'm not sure about the '59 concept but when the Stingray went into production in '63 they had a logo on the rear deck.
C7 is the first Stingray since the '59 concept to have that style of logo placed on the front fender, I'd bet some thought went into the placement.

Regarding the C7 rear Corvette Script I like the angular look of the lettering, it matches the rear styling.

They kept it on the right rear until 1967

Tradition!
I love the history too. the cross flags have gotten more v shaped and
I heard that the fleur-de-lis is for its St. Louis heritage.

That could be right about Fluer-de-lis

I think jsvette has it right in saying everyone has the freedom to make the car to their liking and there are no right or wrong answers.
Personally I'm a fan of keeping things original....I did break the mold a bit with one modification to the sun visors.....

Here it is:

Purchase the following items:

From Amazon.com

Black 3M DI-NOC Carbon Fiber DINOC $5.99
Flex Wrap CA-421 12”x12”
http://www.amazon.com/Gloss-3M-DI-NOC-Carbon-CA-1170/dp/B006FOCBD4

2x (pair/set) Victory Wing Stingray Crossed Flags $19.90
Fender Emblem Badge Nameplate for Chevrolet
Corvette C7 14 2014
http://www.amazon.com/Stingray-Name...bs_auto_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0R26VNHYW77S0JAQZPT5

Cut out two rectangles from the DINOC. You can measure, but I used
dimensions 3 1/4” x 5 1/2” (This about a 1/16” larger
than the label’s length and width).

Using alcohol, clean the label and the area just around it.

Peel the back off and carefully place the DINOC over the label.

Using a hair dryer, lightly heat the DINOC and smooth it out (I used a credit card).

Using alcohol, clean the DINOC on the area where the crossed flags will go.

Now take one of the “victory wing stingray crossed flags”, peel off the back, center it and press it on.

The photo of the flag logos on Amazon make them look cheap, they look very nice, just like factory in person

We plan to keep it stock, but if there were reasonable places to put MORE fishes / stingrays / guitars on I would totally do that. ;) Probably not, but I love everything 'stingray'.
