We were both grinning ear to ear. Now I need to drive it all day, since I'm leaving tomorrow and not home for 7 weeks.Who had the bigger smile, you or the young'un?......lol
Congratulations, nice to hear a positive story on the Canadian front. Sounds like your car came pretty quickly.I also want to give a shout out for/to my dealer Gateway Chev in Brampton Ontario, George the Sales Manager and Owais my Salesman.
They got allocation the week after the price increase here in Canada and I ordered on March 29th. They wrote the order up with the old pricing saying they would see if they could get me price protected, but there were definitely no guarantees, so they marked the order, Possible Price Protection. I sat while they entered the order into the GM Workbench, and received a printied copy which showed the new MSRP on it. So I was expecting to pay the new price.
I happily took delivery yesterday, after getting the final invoice of Wednesday. Now for the last few weeks I'd been bugging them on what the final price would be, so I could make sure I had enough cash in the bank to pay for it. And George the sales manager just kept saying I'm working on it and I'll do as best as I can for you. Well my final invoice showed the new MSRP, but then showed a discount of $3260, bringing me back to the pre increase price. Not sure what he did or who took the hit, but all I know is I am one happy camper.
My salesman Owais also was very helpful. He'd make inquiries when GM customer service didn't have answers. He also activated the OnStar in my car as soon as it left the factory so I could check on it as it made it's way north.
Here in Canada the allocations are pretty hard to come by ( MY14 initial 300 for the country ), so the dealers can pretty do what they want since we are all scrounging to find them. I know that my dealer started the MY14 year with a tentative 5 allocations, first round had 3. In the end every time GM Canada came up with additional ones they sold what they were given and sold all 9 they got. Tentatively they have been told they will be getting 12-15 for MY15 ( initially 5 for the first round ) and one C06 in the first quarter of 2015. They already have entered 3 orders for 2015 C7s, so if your looking in Canada and want a great, straight up dealer call them before their allocations are gone!

When you ordered did they have available allocation, or did you have to wait for new allocation to come their way?Congratulations, nice to hear a positive story on the Canadian front. Sounds like your car came pretty quickly. I placed my order with "Canada's Largest Corvette Dealer" ahead of yours and am still waiting, TPW of Aug 4th, last week of 2014 production.
Awesome to see another Night Race Blue Z51! Excellent choice! The Car is just plain ridiculous. I love it so much. I am thinking of hiring someone to sit next to me to say "Thanks" and return Thumbs Up for all the people saying "awesome/nice/sick car" or giving me the thumbs up. lol.
