Why are some calling the new Stingray... StingRay?

GM clearly calls the car Stingray.
You have to look very closely at the official GM logo, it is in fact StingRay. It is just that the lower case letters look to be capitalized.

John Elegant has posted earlier the different formats for StingRay over the years. I'm sure John will be able to point this thread to his earlier thread. (Sorry I have limited search ability from my iPhone. )

It is both. In written communication, GM calls it Stingray. In all symbols, emblems, and physical objects, it is StingRay.

Since GM uses both, we all get to choose. I prefer StingRay; why, because that way it is different from the two different ways GM spelled it in the 1960's and it is a different car from the great 1960's Corvettes.

And it adds emphasis to the Sting in StingRay :D

Thank y'all!

Sorry for the newbie question, but I know more about muscle cars than Corvette history.

Time to start reading.
An excellent start would be with Peter Brock's Corvette Sting Ray Genesis of an American Icon.

Then you know why I'm still kicking myself for letting my parents sell my 1968 Pontiac GTO in 1976 for $300 when I left for basic training in the USAF!
