I never owned a vert before so perhaps it is totally normal, but your thoughts are appreciated.

When going at 65mph and higher, top up and windows closed, I hear wind noise from where glass meets the canvas vertically (behind my left ear) . I certainly don't feel any air coming in and the windows are aligned perfectly.

I am thinking that the wind noise is the edge of the canvas which just isn't flush to the glass (nor should it be). I haven't had anyone else in the passenger seat at highway speed to ask if they hear it on other side also.

Do other vert owners hear this noise?

Thanks!

Thanks for your response, Blue.

I did some more research and it seems I am not alone. Check this out:
"With the top down and the side windows rolled up on the highway, only a hint of that wind-in-your-face feel is prevalent. Those expecting to catch bugs in their teeth should look for a motorcycle. With the top erected, the convertible is almost as silent as its quiet hardtop sibling aside from some wind roar where the rearmost point of the side windows comes in contact with the roof itself."

This is exactly what I am describing. Does this help explain it?

I have this exact problem/issue. Its just that like you, I'm not certain if it is an actual problem or a minor design oversight given that its arguable how significant it is. Did you take yours back to the dealer to remedy?

ericks0ns,
The noise is certainly still present, but seems to bother me less and less. Maybe once I saw the story I linked to above, I somehow psychologically got past this being an issue. I am convinced it is in the design.

I dont think a wind restrictor is the right solution, as this noise exists with the top up, not top down.

Too many other great things about the car, it is hard to complain. At least that is where my head is now.

I've noticed that wind noise the OP describes only a few times. Opening and closing the door (allowing the windows to index) always eliminates it. If that doesn't work for you, I'd ask the dealer to check the door and window alignment. I don't normally have any noise from wind leaks.

My 2015 has no wind noise. Have you tried re-indexing the window? Maybe that will solve it. BTW, in reference to the above, I saw an interview with Tadge J. where he said C7 verts are actually quieter than coupes. Can't testify to its truthfulness myself though.

I've never noticed any noise like this, except once.

I cycled the top once and it went away. My guess is that, for whatever reason, the top wasn't aligned perfectly that time.
