Try re-indexing the windows.

Window Indexing and
Express-Up Reset
Window indexing may be required if
the vehicle battery has been
recharged or disconnected, or is not
working. Express-up and the
convertible top will not function until
the windows are reset. After battery
power is restored, a message
displays in the Driver Information
Center. See Driver Information
Center (DIC).
Once power is restored:
1. Close the doors.
2. Start the vehicle.
3. Hold the window switch up to the
fully closed position.

 

Also, the radio does not turn off when I open the door (still turns off after 10 minutes or so, so no real problem).

Don't think that would have anything to do with window indexing but maybe the problems are somehow related.

I turn my radio off before I leave the car. BUT if I didn't turn it off, I would have a "real problem" with it staying on for 10 minutes.

Does it not turn off when you open the drivers door?

 

Sounds like there is a problem with the door switch/sensor. The car does not recognize the door is opened to turn off the radio or for indexing the window.

 

I have narrowed it down to the door sensor. Does anyone know where this is located, and if is user serviceable?

Welcome to our forum Tom. Close both doors on your C7. Start the engine. Put first the driver window all the way down, then back up and continue to hold the window button as if you were closing the window, and hold the button for about 5 seconds.. Do the same for the passenger window. That should reindex them.

 

Thank you Jeff, but I understand the indexing problem and how to fix, but as the original problem states, it is the drivers side window goes back up before you close the door A N D the radio does not turn off together, both problems at the same time.

My 2000 convertible has the same issue, the windows do not drop when you open or close the door. I tried the indexing holding the button 5 seconds after completing the up cycle. What's next to try?
