I bought my Stingray about a month ago. During the purchasing process, I asked if I would be getting a window sticker. I was told I would. Before I drove away, I looked through my paperwork and the glove box to see if it was there. It was not. I asked about it again and was told that they did not have one and but they could order one. I said that I would appreciate it if they would. A month later, I still don't have it. A representative of the dealership explained that "it could take some time." Well, if it takes a while, that's fine. I don't suppose it's all that important anyway. I just wanted to ask the forum members if anyone else has experienced any difficulty in getting their window sticker. I always thought the stickers came with the cars from the factory.

Window or Monroney stickers do accompany the car and the dealer should have had the original one. I believe I recall that at least for now you (the owner) can not order a replacement one. Call back and ask to speak with the New Car Sales Manager and or owner and directly express your request. If they somehow misplaced yours they should be able to on their own at no cost to you get you a replacement. If you want you might also get our CheroleteCustomerCare to get involved. PM them with all of the relevant info including your VIN.

That's one of the things I made sure the salesman understood. If it came from the factory with it, I wanted it. I got every thing to include the build sheet. I know it doesn't mean much but I think that stuff is kinda cool. Especially since I personally picked each option for the car. Hopefully the dealership gets you the copy your asking for. I'd stay on them, not because they are not putting it high priority but just because people tend to forget when they have no motivating factory. Good luck!

Sometimes dealers take them off just to get them out of the way. others take them off so they can add to the price. If you go to the National Corvette Museum web you can order one laminated if you desire. cutnout aka Charlie

I received my Window Sticker yesterday from the Museum re: my 9/15 NCM Delivery. It was the Standard one with backing and was included with the Delivery.

I thought it was required by law that they provide the Monroney sticker to you. Apparently that is the case, and a failure to do so can result in a $1,000 fine to them, or imprisonment up to a year, or both.

I searched and found information stating that Title 15 of the United States Code, Chapter 28, Section 1233, Subsection (c) states "Any person who willfully removes, alters, or renders illegible any label affixed to a new automobile pursuant to section 1232 of this title, or any endorsement thereon, prior to the time that such automobile is delivered to the actual custody and possession of the ultimate purchaser of such new automobile, except where the manufacturer relabels the automobile in the event the same is rerouted, repurchased, or reacquired by the manufacturer of such automobile, shall be fined not more than $1,000, or imprisoned not more than one year, or both. Such removal, alteration, or rendering illegible with respect to each automobile shall constitute a separate offense."

Note that the dealership is not the "manufacturer", so the exception does not seem to apply to them.

They really need to give it to you, or get you a new one at no charge to you.

Dealers taking them off so they can add to the price without the customer seeing the original sticker is a complete and utter no-no. That is so unacceptable. Such dealerships should be reported.

In my mind, it is one thing for a dealership to misplace one, but get a replacement for the customer. I personally don't see that as a huge problem. But, in my opinion, it is a whole different ballgame for a dealer to try to play a price increase game that way.

Most likely the guy prepping your car removed it and threw it away. That's happen to me before. I made a big stink (turns out one of the options I paid for wasn't on the sticker) and they went and found it in the trash.

The same way that Al Capone was sent to prison for income tax violations, I would love to see some dealers spending a year in Leavenworth or Danbury for Monroney violations.

Haha!

But don't let them out early like they let Capone. Leave them in there to do all of their time... :)

Call the dealerships GM. Remind him you have not filled out your delivery survey yet and won't until you receive your window sticker.

I purchased my used 2014 C7 in August. Upon purchase (which was not from a Chevy dealer), I asked about the window sticker. The dealer said the previous owner could not find it. After doing some research and looking around, I found out where the vehicle was originally purchased from and called that dealer. The dealer ordered me a new sticker and had it mailed to my home in about a week. It says it is a reprint, but should be fairly easy for you to get one.

Wow, the original dealer went above and beyond for you. The law only required him to make sure the original owner got the one which came with the car from the factory. After that, he wasn't required to get one for any subsequent owner of the car.

But it is really nice he went the extra mile for you, especially since you didn't even buy the car from him.

If I were you, I would give him a very positive "shout out" here in public for his above-and-beyond customer service!

I emailed a rep at the dealership and copied one of the dealership owners indicating that I want the sticker. The latest email from them was yesterday. I feel as though they have indeed ordered one. She said it would take some time. I'll be patient a little longer. Just wanted to hear what the norm was from forum members.

Mine has not arrived yet either. I was present when my Stingray came off the delivery truck (first week of 2015 deliveries), and the original did not accompanying the vehicle. My salesman saved everything for me as they prepped it, and reports that the dealership has contacted G.M. about supplying one. I have no reason to doubt it at this time, but eagerly await its arrival.
