Welp, I did it.. I picked up my white convertible mega-machine on the 19th.. It is everything I thought it would be and far, far more.... I keep looking for excuses to drive places.
I got her at 4 miles on the odom, and now I am up to almost 400, heh heh... I swear it feels like it is getting faster... That or I am getting more comfortable with the transmission.. It was a little funky getting used to a 7th gear, especially on downshifts... I kinda have to do a mental downshift map in my head before I do it, so I don't accidentally throw it into 3rd or something, but I am adapting.

Few questions ->

Does 6th gear seem more difficult than others to get into?

I am getting better at the whole awkward process of getting in and out, but when I get out, for some reason my trunk will pop open when I do it... What the hell am I accidentally hitting? I'm also not sure if my odd body position is whapping the FOB or not, but I have done it at least 4 times now.. each time I am in mid-yank-myself-out mode, so by the time I am standing, I am not really sure what has happened...

I notice the magical exhaust valves kick in at exactly 30mph with normal throttling.. Can I change that to a higher speed, or is that something fundamental?

How many times have you had an intraffic conversation due to the car, or your picture taken at random!? haha! It has only been a few days and I've had my pic (or I should say, the car's pic) taken at least 3 times..

OH - and man, how AWESOME do these cars sound??? I really think that is my favorite part.. It just sounds so clean... yet mean as hell.. What an amazing sound...

Congratulations Brian! You now have what is better known as Permagrin, a face disorder that comes from owning and driving the most exciting car on the planet, in looks, comfort and performance. The thumbs-ups and photos are a part of owning it too, since you are now similar to rock star status! Welcome to the forum! The hatch/trunk release button is on the lower left dash and you are probably hitting it with your knee when you get out. Try setting your seat up for easy exit where it automatically goes to a more rearward position. It will make it easier to get in and out, as well as keep you from hitting the button.
I never use 7th,and I just got back from a 1000 mile trip where I used 6th gear on the highway cruising at 75 at got 32mpg average. I read somewhere that using 7th yielded less mpg, so I never used it. No issues getting it into 6th. NPP exhaust is the greatest thing I like about my car!

I only use 7th on the highway, and the Vette achieves top speed in 5th gear (over 186 MPH on the Autobahn).

Haven't noticed, but I only use these gears on the highway, and I've only logged 200 miles on the highway, using cruise in ECO mode in 7h gear.

I haven't noticed anything different at 30 MPH, I think it's more a function of engine RPM. The car sounds incredible, and I love it. NPP, and the range of sound it achieves IS awesome!

You didn't mention ARM - one of my other favorite features.

Good question - in my first few days of ownership, I thought I was doing something wrong when I couldn't get the top up using the FOB!

Ahh, the paparazzi effect. Get used to it. Random people will run up to you and the car in parking lots, gas stations, etc. Just wait for people hanging out of windows on the freeway taking video.. Keep an eye on your rear view mirror at stop lights and you'll catch them taking cell phone pictures. Happens at almost ever light..

Set your seat to auto ez out in your settings makes not hitting the rear hatch button happen a lot less.
