I just received an email from siriusxm stating that they hope I'm enjoying my trial. If my memory serves me correctly isn't the corvette supposed to get a 1 year trial? The email mentions it ends in December which is for a 3 month trial. All my other cars were 3 months.

Just looked at my window sticker and yes it's for 1 year. Now I have to deal with my dealer again!!! Talking to Siriusxm is terrible.
I thought the 3LT got one year, all others 3 months. Part of that other $4000 upgrade from LT2 to 3LT.

This happened with me on my '13 427 Convertible. I think XM just does that to everyone and hopes someone will start paying. The trial on my car ended after 3 months. I called and complained, quoting my window sticker. They then gave me another full year of free service, which is just about to end.

Good to know. I bet you're right. If it wasnt for these posts some of us may not have known. Honestly I didnt even think about it and assumed it was only for 3 months. My Mercedes was for 6 months initial subscription.

Funny that you say that. I thought of it last weekend and was thinking - since when does XM have ads on stations? Is that normal? Or do you think this is because of 1 year free service?

ads are now part of Sirius...if oyu want the renewal rate to be as low as possible, follow the following instructions:
1. LET THE SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRE
2. then they will start calling you - tell them you can't afford it
3. they will offer some crazy rates to keep you
4. NEVER GIVE THEM A CREDIT CARD TO RENEW - tell them to send you an invoice and you will send them a check-otherwise they renew you automatically at the end of the new period...

Make 'em beg for your business and they will reduce it a lot. My last 4 cars I have done the above and got it for $28-30 for 6 months...

Now Onstar is a diff story..they will let you walk....no reduction - they still want $15 a month...

True, I've never paid more than $5 a month. In fact my XM is about to expire and I've already gotten a letter in the mail to renew at $4.99 a month.
As far as Onstar I have heard of folks getting a discount but it doesn't appear to be very common. I let mine expired on my last car and never got a discount offer to renew.

So how long is the OnStar subscription with the vehicle then?

OnStar is a 6 month directions and connections subscription, 5 years on the phone remote link app; the XM is 1 year for 2LT and 3LT, and 3 months for the 1LT to the best of my knowledge (and reading off of my window sticker).

I just bought a 2014 Stingray convertible yesterday (5-7-14). Called SiriusXM today and "Elizabeth" claimed that my car has a 3 month trial. I read to her right off the Chevrolet MyLink page about the 2014 Stingray being 3 months for the 1LT and one year for the 2LT & 3LT. I then asked for her supervisor who "conveniently" could not come to the phone. She then referred me to customer care 1-866-635-2349 and they hung up on me! I stopped SiriusXM on the Camaro I traded in last year as I usually listen to HD Radio or CD's/MP3's. I then got the notices for 6 months for $20. I guess I have to report this to the dealer.
