It finally happened!!! I picked her up Tuesday from Rick Conti in Ohio and had THE MOST AMAZING DRIVE back home to Texas. I had planned to stop in Memphis, TN after my museum and plant tour but I was having so much fun driving that I blew past TN and drove the entire trip in one fell swoop! This car is simply awesome! I only have 1350 miles on her so far, but it's already becoming the best car I've ever owned!

Here's a cool write-up about my experience in Rick's blog - for those who may be interested.

I'll post pics soon (hot date tonight - I think she likes the Stingray, not me!) LOL

Congrats on the beautiful car Clarkster! Mine is identical to yours except for the red calipers and my wheels are the machined aluminum. Just found out she is built and bayed as of today so hopefully it won't be long now. I'll just have to live through you pic's until mine arrives.;)

Congratulations!!!! Your car looks fantastic... I'm sure your ride back to Texas was memorable! Looking forward to same excitement in 10 days. Driving from BG back to Franklin, Tn. Tell me how you drove... Did you slow down and rev up often on the interstate? I'm concerned about break in and looking for the best approach.

Congrats Clarkster! What part of Texas are you from?
I'm from San Antonio but currently live in Killeen (Fort Hood) Texas.

Scott....I drove it like I STOLE IT! There are, of course, differences of opinion with regard to driving it that way or "babying"/breaking it in for the first couple of thousand miles. I didn't use the cruise control all that much, but varied my speed throughout the 1300 trip. All I can say is that as beautiful as the C7 looks, it drives even better!!! Unbelievable machine!!! And comfortable? I'm 6'1" and 220 lbs and didn't even stop in Memphis like I had planned...drove straight through. I only took it up to about 125 mph once. I still had half a pedal to go, it seemed.

Thanks all for your well-wishes. I will post some more pics soon...

I live in Harker Heights area and should get mine in April, same color as yours. I bet you are really having a good time with that beautiful car. As we both know cyber grey is the best color to get.
