Saw an actual Z-51 Convertible in person today. Loaded black with chrome wheels, competition seats. Hendrick City Chevrolet in Charlotte. Apparently it was the very first one shipped according to dealer.

I believe Mr. Hendrick bought the rights to the first convert .(first coupe also) back last spring. I suspect it is not for sale, that is unless you tell me different?
I would think you would see a press release when Rick Hendrick gets his. They actually started shipping coupes four days before he got VIN#1 delivered. My vert went 4B00 yesterday so I should have it next week.

I hope for your sake your right about you getting your Vette next week, but that would surprise me.
I don't want to get my hopes up but it went thru QC and is bayed and GM customer care person said it could even be shipped within two days and is just waiting for full load. It probably won't take long to have a full load coming to Florida. I figured with plant being closed it won't ship until next week. The more I think of it that could have been Hendricks vert since it had the competition seats. That it strange putting those seats in a vert.

You have to know we want plenty of pictures when you get it! ;)
Hey y'all,

I am sorry that I am behind a little bit in the tracking. I am going to catch up now!

I also wanted to let you know that the Convertibles that have been built have shipped out of BG and are heading to your dealer! Whooo!

I do not have an eta of their arrival but this is her last adventure before you meet her.

I also hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!

My Z51 vert was invoiced yesterday. Since I am taking delivery at the museum, I am waiting for them to call. They did tell me yesterday that they were trying to sort out which verts have been released for shipment that are museum cars and then they will start scheduling deliveries. Won't be long now.

Congratulations Rich427! It will be so exciting. If you have time, encourage you to consider arriving at the Museum around noon (or earlier) the day before, do your self-guided Museum tour that afternoon. That will leave you the opportunity to have your Delivery Specialist give you the longest factory tour, and still have plenty of time for your "car presentation."

Congratulations to GM, for exceeding your commitment to have the first StingRay convertibles delivered by the end of the fourth quarter.

Thanks for the info. Our plane arrives in Nashville around Noon on Tuesday the 10th. We will drive up to BG right after getting the rental car, so we will be there in plenty of time to do the museum. But to be frank, I won't take long in the museum because we have been there a number of times and will only be interested in the things that have changed since the last time we were there. I also have bought a set of splash guards that I will need to install on the car. I would like to do that the day before delivery but if time, or the museum does not permit, will do so after delivery on the 11th. I know I can't do it while it is sitting on Corvette Blvd, but should be able to take car of it in another area.

And I agree, the factory tour is much more important to me than the museum tour. Besides we have the 7:45 time slot, so we should have plenty of time to spend getting indoctrinated with the car. At least I hope so!

I bought mine from Fichtner Chev in Billings, MT. They posted that they had them available through their parts department. I order them and had them dropped shipped to a friend in KY that will bring them to me when I get to BG. You might also try gmpartshouse.com. Those guys do a pretty good job too.

Just curious what your last four digits in your VIN are. Mine is 7584.

Hey there. Another Fichtner customer here. My wife and I are picking up hers a week after you. I called Bob at Fichtner's parts department and backordered a set of splash guards. I got a UPS notice on Thanksgiving that they were shipping, but tracking shows it hasn't been picked up yet. I'm assuming we will get our guards in time to take them to Bowling Green.

Sorry I couldn't join the great pilot/blue corvette party on the 11th, but if I can get a decent wi-Fi connection in my hotel room, I'll be watching you guys.

I am sure they will be picked up on Monday. Bob was great to work with and I had mine dropped shipped to Eagle3sh. He has mine now and will bring them to the museum. Looks like we have put together a decent crowd for dinner the night before. The 3 LB verts, another vert delivery taking place the same day and Eagle3sh with his vert. He should take delivery at his dealer this week and will drive down to BG on the 10th to be with us on the 11th and start the caravan to Florida. Should be a great time, not only picking up the car but spending a few days on the road with new friends too!
