Thanks to Mike Furman @ Criswell Chevrolet, we have learned a lot about the new Z06 allocations. Criswell has received a total 2015 MY allocation of 96 Z06's. Mike, we at StingRay Forums greatly appreciate your sharing that detailed info with us. Mike noted that his specific allocation is "50% more than I expected," and that he is "already responding to over 75 e mails today alone from customers on my prioritized Z06 list!" . He noted that Criswell's 2015 MY 96 Z06 allocation is, as always, couched in GM's language that this is GM's best projection as to what you will receive, and it not a absolute production commitment. Mike added that his 96 allocation includes both coupes and convertibles.

While not sharing specific numbers for the other top four dealers, Mike added that the top four dealers will be receiving a total of approximately 650 2015 MY Z06's.

Also he added that neither he nor any other dealer has a specific allocation for the first September 18th allocation, that he and others will get that first week's consensus the morning of the 18th. Finally, Mike confirmed the earlier rumors that the first consensus would be solely for manual transmission coupes, that automatic transmission and convertibles will occur later during the model year (time not specified).

Thank you [email protected] for giving us all more knowledge, a window into how GM has awarded the 2015 MY Z06 consensus, for providing us specific detailed info we did not have before, and verifying a couple of sequencing rumors we had repeatedly heard in the last month.

Good Z06 news!!! Maybe more than 4,000, 2015 Z06's will be produced; could be even 5,000??? This info is from someone who does not know wish to be identified; however this person shared, verbatim from the memo that GM shared with its dealers today, one key sentence that offer great news for even small Corvette dealers, to wit:

"Every dealer who is a Corvette Stingray eligible Dealer as of August 28, 2014, will receive an estimated production guide number of at least one (1) 2015 Corvette Z06 in the Z06 allocation group sometime during the 2015 model run."

The good news here is that not only all of the original 900 dealers who had, last fall, StingRay allocation, but also all Chevy dealers who, 1) sent a staff person to Spring Mountain training, 2) got at least one of their Technicians StingRay service certified, and 3) also purchased the StingRay specific tools, will all receive at least one 2015 Z06. (Whther this is true for non-USA dealers is not known.)

Good and unexpected news for many dealers!!! And Z06 customers too!

Since GM's internal Z06 allocation memo has now been elsewhere posted on the internet, and the memo does not anywhere on it state "not for public release" (or similar), I am now comfortable sharing another two key paragraphs that I learned much earlier today:

"First order submission for the 2015 Z06 in the Dealer Order Submission Process [DSOP] will be September 18, 2014. Please be aware that only Z06 Coupe with Manual Transmission will be available to order for this first DOSP cycle. We anticipate that both the 8-Speed Automatic Transmission and Convertible models will be available in 1-2 months after this first DOSP.

Furthermore, participating dealers should be aware of any other production constraints that may impact the ability to fulfill certain order configurations, and should avoid making commitments to customers until the allocation and constraints are available to the dealer in the weekly order placement cycle. Please monitor the weekly constraint guide for latest constraint status."

I hope they do build 5000+, that just means they will be on the employee/supplier program sooner rather than later ;)

I am thinking of maybe going with a manual instead of A8 otherwise I might be sh*t out of luck. If a dealer gets an allocation for 5 Z06, I assume that's for both manual and A8. If 5 customers want manual, then dealer won't have any allocation left when ordering starts for the A8. Is this the way it works? Or am I wrong?

As I have written before many times, for the multiple reasons I have indicated previously, I will not be surprised if they build many more than people were anticipating.

They will not get all of their allocations released to them at once. They will get them sprinkled throughout the model year.

I just spoke to Zach at Caste, and the 3 manual Z06 are already spoken for; that was quick lol.. They got a total of 6 allocations which is respectable IMO for a dealer that's not in the top 100.

How will (does, historically) the Z06 Production work as far as them doing them vs regular StingRays?

So, first ones will be in the 9/18 consensus, to be built on x?? week. In that week, do they have a "Z06" day where they build all the allocated Z06's for the week? Or do they sprinkle them in here and there? i.e. how fast will all those pent up orders actually be produced?

Do you know their total number of 2014 StingRays sold?

Mike, what percent was used to compute your allocation of 96? I am hearing 17+% of 2014 StingRays sold bantered around privately.

In other words, how many 2014 did you sell? Numbers coming from a large dealer will give a more exact percent than dividing two small numbers (more rounding error occurs when you divide two smaller numbers and are forced to convert that to an integer percentage than if you can compute it with two bigger numbers).

Thanks!

WHOOOO! HOOOO! If we're looking at only a 1-2 month delay for the 8-speed automatic after the first DOSP, the delay will have very little if any impact on my ability to order. This is really good news John. Thank you.

Mikes fanbase has increased with the release of this info and his phone is ringing off the hook at Criswell Chevrolet. If Mike can't put them in a Z06 (183 Z06 folders), I'm sure he can put them in a 2015 C7 to quench their thirst to own a Corvette StingRay.
