Funny comment on the featured vehicle, as follows;

"Looks like a hot wheel and transformer had a terrible baby."

After reading the comment and planting the seed in my mind, I looked at the photo...

I'm not sure I agree. Sure, everybody has their owns tastes, especially in color combinations. But the Z06 in real life is basically one gorgeous car. Some things I would change, others someone else may change. But fundamentally, this thing is one nice buggy!

You work for GM. Admit it.

Just teasing. I'm expecting to love the look. At least initially.

From my 48 years of automotive enthusiast experience, I've found that cars with lots so tacked on styling elements don't hold up well over time. There are exceptions, but pure, unadulterated designs tend to maintain their beauty longer.

I agree and the Stringray meets that criteria. The Z06 is a lot like the Porsche GT3, lots of extra performance parts that can clutter the look but it's expected and it does hold up over time, just to a smaller community than car it's based on.

Personally, I would never do a bright or high contrast color. Black or Gray would be my color choice (as it was for my Z51) to minimize the busy look but that's an entirely personal choice.

Not a big surprise considering there were already pics on the site, but Jay's "Ultimate car week" starts on Sunday and he's driving the velocity yellow Z06 in the commercial. Looks like we're going to start getting some media coverage of the actual car in action soon!

Thanks for posting the video Chip! I particularly like when Jay jumps in after Ed says it is only a display model and drives off. :cool:

Probably a little over 200 ( say 205-207?) if they are saying that on the show.
That would be my bet as well. The C6 ZR1 could achieve around 205, and the C7 Z06 has ever more power...
