I was playing around with configurations and saw a post on another site with the typical, "it will be over $100K base" and put down what I've heard as rumors onto a simple matrix. Of course it's a pure SWAG and doesn't take into account individual options.

I know there are pricing posts sprinkled all over the Z06 section but I thought bringing them all together will be interesting to look back on this in a few months and see how clairvoyant we are. Post up your guess and add some comments on why, if you are so inclined.

Here's my "questimate"

Estimates based on these quotes:
  • If you can afford the outgoing Z06 you will be happy with the price
  • Full loaded Z07 will be under $100,000
  • 3 interior options mirror existing
Remember, 3 interiors, 1LZ, 2LZ and 3LZ. If they track with the Stingray then 2LZ is a $4K bump, 3LZ is a $8K bump.

The outgoing C6 Z06 was mid $70's base, that's where the C7 will start.

Z06 1LZ = $76500
Z06 2LZ = $80500
Z06 3LZ = $84500 <-- Corrected
Z06 1LZ Z07 = $91000 <-- Corrected
Z06 2LZ Z07 = $95000 <-- Corrected
Z06 Z07 3LZ = $99000

The math does not appear correct. The 3LT is 8 k more than the 1LT, not 8 k more than the 2LT.

Also, there are nine options: Stage 1, Stage 2, Z07, and each can have three levels of trim: 1LZ, 2LZ, or 3LZ.

I also am going to guess that the C7 Z06 starting price will be less than the C6 Z06 starting price since they will be able to borrow so heavily from the Z51 StingRay now. I am going to say that Stage 1 Z06 with 1 LZ will start at $69,995.

Good catch, corrected but I'm not sure where the Stages fit. If it's Z07 stages then perhaps that bridges some of the $15K gap I have between Base and Z07. I thought it was the Z06 then Z07 and the Z07 comes with the ability to modify the down force with larger front end caps and adjustable rear spoiler, hence stage 2 and 3.

Sorry, I had a typo in post #2 (corrected now).

It is my understanding there will be three stages of Z06: Stage 1 (uses the Z51 spoiler), Stage 2 (which is Stage 1 + ground effects splitter and rocker panels + new spoiler) and the highest stage, the Z07 (which is a Stage 2 plus most aggressive rotors and brakes, track tires, plus the most aggressive, adjustable, see-through spoiler). All three will share the new wider body and supercharged engine.

There are three options in the StingRay, (NPP, Z-51, and MSRC) which collectively cost $5,800. All three of these are standard, no-cost in the base Z06. We also have a major engine upgrade (37% HP, 40% TQ) , bigger tires/wheels/brakes, wider body panels, etc., etc.

I think some of the above estimates are consequently optimistic, especially since a 2013 C6 Z06 with all its options, but neither the customer engine build ($5,800), nor the custom VIN ($5,000) cost $103,000.

I have heard and video-seen "second hand comments" that GM said it would not cost more than $100K, but have never seen nor heard a GM employee say that.

Would love for above pricing predictions to be correct, yet believe that the base Z06 will start between $80-85,000.

I’m not going to try to guess all the stages and options so here is my guess from low to high.

Z06 1LZ $79,995

Z06 - Z07 3LZ $99,995
