Friend of mine owns a body shop, and once painted a car based on the 1" x 1.5" paint chip. Customer saw it and went ballistic, saying it was nothing like what he wanted. The body shop repainted the entire car for just the price of the paint. And that body shop will never ever paint another car based on a paint chip or simple.
Saw the actual Z06 dark gray leather sample that Ryan Vaughan, Interior Design Manager brought to the Bash and it is not approaching black nor even a charcoal gray. When we discussed it, as Ryan was showing it to Annie and me, he said that it is in full sections, it is exactly as per the sample, i.e., in other words, it is a beautiful dark gray. It is dark enough that it is definitely not in a medium gray, nor is it too dark so that it appears like a faded black.
