Last March, my local Chevy salesman and I agreed on a $2K deposit to put me at #4 on their Z06 wait list, with an additional $3K due when pricing and allocation for my order was confirmed.

The salesman sent me an email re-stating what we had discussed and that my Z06 would be sold at MSRP, plus tax, tag and fees. I sent him a credit card authorization for $2K, which was not utilized. Odd, but he said that accounting was probably waiting until we got closer to being able to order the car.

I also asked for a sales manager to sign off on our agreement. He said that was not needed as he had the authority to make the deal. Ok, I wasn't going to push it. For all I knew in March, the Z06 was going to MSRP at over $100K and I wouldn't be interested anyway.

He notified me last Thursday that his dealer has 3 Z06 allocations and I was at #3 on their list. I asked if we could write up the deal (with pricing and sales manager signature). He said "come on in!"

I got there last night. We completed a build sheet and a guy from accounting collected my $5K.

A few minutes later, the sales manager stopped by to introduce himself. He showed me a text from someone at Chevrolet indicating the dealer would not have firm allocation numbers until Tuesday (just as Elegant has reported), but he fully expected to be able to fill my order at MSRP in the 1st round. He couldn't write up the deal, as Z06 pricing was not available in their system yet. Oh, and now I'm #2 on their waiting list.

Salesman assured me there would be no disappointments and that I am going to love my new Z.

So, am I going to be one of the lucky ones to get an early Z at MSRP? Or, is disappointment in my future? Let's hear your thoughts...

Personally, I'm still Z06 Hopeful.

Z06 Hopeful, love your forum name, and as "jsvette" noted, you have done everything you can to this point.

For all wanting a Z06, as noted above, your dealers will be getting a document (probably by e mail) in just two days with their Z06 allocations, and we can all ask to look it it if in doubt. That does not mean we all need to demand to see that document, for their are many dealers we have all dealt with who are honest and trustworthy (I will not be asking to see that document from my dealer), but for those who do not have 100% confidence in your dealers, have reason to suspect you are being strung along, they will have a document to show you on Tuesday.

Note, we also do not yet know whether Tuesday the dealers will be given just their coupe Z06 allocations, or both/separate allocation amounts, e.g. one allocation just for the Z06 coupe and a separate allocation for the Z06 convertibles (as the 'verts are not scheduled to start until late winter). We will all learn more real soon.

Not going to demand to see the allocation email. I've asked to see it. If they comply, fine. If they don't, I'm still ok.

I'm sure there is not an "official Z06 waiting list" published by any dealer. So, even if they get 2 build spots, nothing guarantees that my car will be either of them.

At the end of they day, whether they have 1 allocation or 100, I have to trust they will honor their words. As JSVette pointed out, I've done all I can do.

The dealer will get authorization (allocation) for those three at any time in the MY 2015. Doesn't mean they will be in the first week of production....could be in the last week. So, don't expect the car early and get upset if that doesn't happen. The dealer is at the mercy of the GM system.
Larger dealers that get allocations at every cycle can place the orders and those at the top of the list will be satisfied with an early production car.

I too have a story about my ZO6 "preliminary order". Called my local dealer last Feb. and placed a $500 deposit on the 2015 Z. According to dealer I am #1 on list even the owner is allowing me a car before him. Talked with dealer in August and he said "3 car allocation on first round". I was told that I could either come in and place order or wait couple of weeks. Dealer called Friday and I went in and placed my order for the Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic. He gave me a website to go to for the build and of course an order #. They didn't collect any further deposit money. So I am going to wait like everyone else. If the Z comes in before winter great otherwise I can wait until spring.

FWIW, I have very recently talked to several of the very top allocation dealers in the country, and none of them have yet received their allocation, let alone how many they will have in the first consensus, etc.

Tomorrow dealers in the USA will get their 2015 Z06 allocations, and, as of yet, they do not know whether tomorrow's Z06 allocations will be broken down by the entire model year, by the first month, coupes versus allocations, nor whether it will include the first week's allocation.

Tomorrow will be the day they and we learn more, and finding it hard to believe one dealer learned weeks ago what the "biggest dealers do not yet know." Not doubting your truthfulness "jklein", believe that you posted exactly and honestly what you were told, but IMO, doubting the veracity of your dealer, what he/she told you.
