Zero to 60 timing info from Edmunds!

Some of you have mentioned not being able to duplicate the stated 0 to 60 time of 3.8 seconds. According to Edmunds, from the article titled "2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51 Suspension Walkaround" dated July 24, 2013, it stated; "Josh promptly equaled GM's straight-line acceleration claims of a 12-second quarter-mile and zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds AFTER EXCLUDING THE SAME 1 FOOT OF INITIAL DRAG STRIP ROLLOUT THEY DEDUCT. But rollout and zero mph are mutually exclusive concepts; THE TRUE ZERO-MEANS-ZERO-TO-60 FIGURE IS 4.1 SECONDS!"

So obviously there is some constructive working with numbers here! I just wanted to post this to help clear up the confusion and because there have been multiple questions about it! I hope this helps in some small way!

As I had posted elsewhere on our forum, I ran two back to back opposite direction 0-60 runs with RedHot. I used the on board 0-60 timer, had her in Tour and did not use Launch Control and tires were warm, low humidity and in the low 70 degree ambient temps. Both runs were 4.2 seconds. I am fairly confident that I could do better and shave a ten of a second or possibly two by trying a combination of the following: use Track Mode, Launch Control, push her harder (that is more vigorously stomp the gas), increase engine revs prior to releasing brakes, etc.
Interesting Mecholova. That is an amazing time, better than I have seen others achieve. He must have done the runs quite a while before taking the photo since his engine temp, oil temp and tac red line indicate a very cold car.
