I'm curious about the way the zr1 designation is used by GM. GM describes it as a power increase. However after reading what the zr1 description includes, I don't see any part of it that increases power.

For history buffs, the C4 ZR-1s had the following power from their dual overhead cam 350 ci V8s: 1990-1992: 375 HP; 1993-1995: 405 HP. The standard C4 Corvette during that period was 300 HP as I recall. For the C4 ZR-1s, the ZR-1 package roughly doubled the price of the coupe, sort of like the C6s.-- BobAs of 2013 MY:
C6 base/Grand Sport = 430/436 hp
C6 Z06 = 505 hp
C6 ZR1 = 638 hp
Ops you missed a year 1993 also had 405hp and was an Anniversary year for corvette. For history buffs, the C4 ZR-1s had the following power from their dual overhead cam 350 ci V8s: 1990-1992: 375 HP; 1994 and 1995: 405 HP. The standard 1990 and 1991 corvette had the L98 engine was 245/250hp. The LT1 engine came out in 1992 with 300hp.
That's funny! I figured it was just an oversight. How could I do that? I owned a '93 for 13 years! Thanks--I corrected the earlier post to include '93. And thanks on the regular C4 info. Dave, I should have known you would be watching!!!--Bob
