So as I drive around and spot other Corvettes, I notice most of the owners appear to be older than say a Camaro or other sport car owner. This got me thinking about what the average age of the owners on here. (This is just my general observation in my area.)
So if you want, post your age and later I will figure out the average.

I'll start with my Age: 67

Yep, they quit making them when they finally got it right.... in the meantime, the original owners drove their lemons (unless it was parked at the dealership). I even saw them burn on the side of the road....! Not kidding. The I bought a Corvette C4. There appeared to be a lot of similarities in parts and the way they wer constructed, except that they were built right. To me, the Corvette almost seemed like a very expensive Fiero without any problems. One other thing, that 4 cylinder lawnmower of a Fiero was rated a "sports car" for insurance purposes, which meant a hefty insurance bill. I did like the speakers in the headrest though. That would be a great idea for today's Corvette as well!

Here is the update:

We have added 7 more responses, for a total of:
76 responses with your age now.
Oldest = 83 (and going strong)
youngest = 24/25 (wish I would have started out at that age)
Average = 56.68

My network chose just this time to freeze up, so it took less time to do than it appears.

We have done that in the past. The problem is the poll gets 'old' and doesn't get a high enough rate of response at one time to be meaningful. If you look at these related threads, the same thing happens- the topic comes in and out of interest.

The average age of a C7 owner, as perhaps not statistically but anecdotly verified here, is in the low 50’s. This was elsewhere confirmed, with that compilation reporting a mean age of C7 buyers as being 53. This compares with the average age toward the very end of the C6 run of 61 years of age.

In short, GM has done with the C7 what they wanted and what they knew they needed to, e.g., significantly reduce the average age of a Corvette buyer.

Bet that is a similar goal for the ME. I wonder how successful that part of GM’s goals for the ME will be?

Getting the average down from over 60 to the mid-low 50s was a major accomplishment for Chevrolet's Corvette division. Probably due to it's departure from some previous model norms, and it's proven outstanding value for a world-class sports car. With economics as they are, it seems to me it will be very difficult to get that age down much more...given the general lack of interest in cars amongst younger folks and the ever increasing strain on people's discretionary spending.''

If the ME is a wonderful car and a relative good value, maybe they can nudge it down a bit more...it will be interesting to watch it all unfold.

I'd love to know what it was when I bought my first one in '64 at age 18. On my 6th now at 71, so I'm afraid I'm hurting the stats these days.?
