I hit start and the engine does nothing. Everything else turns on like normal. I can hear a little click noise that seems to be coming from the trunk area. I don’t believe this is a battery issue. I tried disconnecting then reconnecting the battery thinking it might be something that could be reset. ItsThe link is for a 30 second video I took of what’s happening and uploaded to YouTube.

Thoughts on what this could be?
Video of C7 engine not starting.
PS I’m not under warranty so I won’t be taking or towing it to a dealer.

It looks to me like you need a new car battery.

Even before you try to start it, the voltmeter shows that the battery voltage is low. It looks like it is reading about 11.5 V even before you try to start the car.

It wasn’t that low when this drama started 2 days ago, but I do keep messing with it trying to get her to start. This battery is about a month old. The voltage, while running, usually hovers around 13. I probably will need to jump start at this point, but that’s kind of a secondary issue. On friday when it first happened I automatically assumed it was the battery, so I did attempt to jump start, first with a battery charger then left it hooked up to my Range Rover for a little bit. Voltage was higher, but still the same thing.

Looking back over your posts, you certainly have had a litany of issues with your C7. Under no normal circumstances should you be going through 3 batteries a year. Do you use a Range AFM/DFM Disabler or similar product? Earlier versions of that were known to run down the C7's battery while the Vette was turned off.

Its been a while since I un-owned my 2014, but riddle me this; if you press the start button without stepping on the brake or clutch, does the dash light up and maybe show the battery voltage along with the other info? If it does, is the voltage shown above 12v? And then the voltage only drops below 12v when you depress a pedal and press the start button? This might indicate that it is trying to start, sending power to something. Now this is old school, but the next step would be to at least find the starter, give it or the solenoid a couple good raps, and try again. If no go I would check for power to the solenoid. I say old school because I have no idea what the starter and solenoid setup looks like on these cars. Never had to fool with mine. Good luck.

Seeing as this thread is a few years old at this point, and never really showed a difinitvie answer, But I am currently experiencing exactly this, Car was running 2 weeks ago, Battery drained out due to some parasitic draws, I hooked up my jumper box at 100% Battery and get exactly what the video is showing, If i press and hold power button it shows me all info, lights dash radio all turn on like normal, but if i press brake and try to start everything goes black, I hear fuel pumps kick on but car won't crank. Ive tried bypassing starter relay and I can get the engine cranking but car will still not start.

Suggest you bring the battery to a service center or auto center and have it load tested.

I've had the same problem on my 16 zo6. It happens with a totally new battery installed by the dealer. Dealer has no answer. I can start it normally 6 out of 7 times or so but every once in awhile it won't start. It is always stored with the vette tender pluged in. I have gone to taking along a NOCO Boost. Works everytime. Slight hassel but it will get me going and I'll have no problem for several other starts.

I hope someone here can give me a better solution.

This is an older thread but... In the case of the last post, it sounds like a loose.faulty connection at the battery. Connecting a jumper battery would improve the connection. There is a tiny jumper wire than sometimes get stressed when a new battery is installed. I broke mine. If that wire is broken or inconsistent connection it will not start.

Here is the wire Stoan is referring to (Note that it has a small additional wire attached to it (marked with a yellow arrow and caution triangle).:
