Carbon Flash - New Wheel Option for ZR1 Only

There are four wheel options for the 2019 ZR1: Pearl Nickel, Carbon Flash Painted, Satin Graphite Painted, and Chrome.

The new Carbon Flash option can be seen on the Sebring Orange Convertible ZR1 that was revealed in LA. Be sure to check it out at the LA Auto Show this week if you are able to attend.

According to the order guide, this is for the ZR1 only for the 2019 MY.

Personally, I'm glad they are offering a wheel option that matches the rest of the Carbon Flash painted pieces on the car. (This is the reason I painted my 2014 Stingray wheels in Carbon Flash and why my 2017 GS Tribute wheels have Carbon Flash inner spoke.)

That is a nice option, though interesting, the carbon flash exterior trim so prevalent on most other C7’s has been replaced with visible carbon fiber on the ZR1.

Would it not make sense to also offer carbon flash wheels therefore on all other C7’s too – which, standard, come with carbon flash vents and grilles, etc?

That is exactly my first reaction as well. The carbon flash wheels make more sense on all of the other C7s more than they do on the ZR-1, because the ZR-1 has less carbon flash due to the more extensive use of visible carbon fiber.

It would indeed make sense. I know a fellow who has had carbon flash wheels on both his Stingray and his Grand Sport because it matched the rest of the carbon flash parts on his cars.

Jeremy, the carbon flash wheels is just one more option offered to the C7 Masterpiece ZR1 buyer to set them apart from other models.

This is why there are options. :) The funny thing is that no one at the reveal or on the subsequent media days even noticed that they were carbon flash. On a cloudy day, my carbon flash wheels look black. Only when the sun or the right light hits them is the metallic noticeable. It's a very subtle difference over black with no flake in it.

Been trying to figure out why they haven't offered the CF color on the rims from the beginning--to keep things uniform.

Getting my new (to me) Forgelines powdercoated in Carbon Flash. Makes too much sense to do them in that color, as opposed to regular black. My .02
