Made a road trip to Bowling Green KY, Visited the Museum and took the Assembly Plant Tour.
I was the only one in our tour group that owned a C7, at one stop during the assembly plant tour the guide asked me if the car was getting the advertised gas mileage.
I was able to speak to the group and shared the numbers you see below with them.

2014 non Z51 coupe / 7 MT / did not use Eco mode / 436.7 miles / 13.143 gallons / 33.226 overall mpg included some town driving around BG, freeway only average was higher (see photo) mostly going around 70 mph

Business routinely takes me between South Bend and West Lafayette, IN. This is about a two-hour drive of 115 miles. I'll take US 31 and US 25 for the trip, where posted speeds range from 55 to 65 - most of the drive is posted at 60 MPH.

I set cruise to between 62-72 MPH depending on the posted limit. In ECO, I can just get to 33 MPG by the end of the drive. This is all done in 6th gear (M7).

FYI - I have noticed that at "low" speeds when in ECO and 7th gear, the car never switches out of V8 mode - RPMs apparently are too low, and I think that 6th gear (which allows V4 mode to engage at these speeds) gives better fuel economy at these conditions.

Here are some updates on Caroline's "Last xxx mile" "Best" MPG readings:

She has only been driven in "M"-mode, plus, of course, a little bit of "R".

The Z51 has the Electronic Limited Slip Rear End which has a different final Rear Gear ratio. It runs a little higher revs at 65/70MPH. Mine runs at 1500-1600RPM

I've been seeing 27-31 MPG so far on Freeway and 22-24 mixed. Have a long trip this weekend so will see what happens.

2016 Z51 2LT LONG BEACH RED COUPE

Recently drove 700 Miles+ from Palm Springs, Ca. to Fortuna, Ca. (Northern Cal. Red Woods area). Avg MPG was 28.4

I agree, I don't really worry about the mileage, but am still amazed that such a high performance sports car can get such great mileage!!

At a BASH event a few years ago, Tadge was sharing at one of his presentations, that the number one thing that folks come up and tell him about their Corvettes, is the fuel mileage they got driving to the event -- and he added the same is true at other major Corvette events.

Doubt that one of us bought our C7's (or earlier generations) because of its gas mileage, but we sure are proud of how good it is.

I mistakenly deleted an entire album from my phone containing over 140 photo's, one of those photo's was my trip meter of my trip to Mt Evans Colorado. 1800 miles driven, average speed 69 MPH. I-20 at 80 miles an hour for hundreds of miles. grand total, was 31.2 MPG when I drove into my driveway. I could not believe that C-7 did that. It's like the best of all worlds. Sexy body style, impressive performance, and fuel economy all wrapped up in beatifullness .

If you have an iPhone, checked the album called Recently Deleted. You might be able to recover the photos.

I used to average around 16 mpg with a C2 roadster with solid lifters. I once got 19 on a road trip, and was thrilled. Of course, premium back then was under 40 cents a gallon. But adjusted for inflation, that's not far off from today's premium prices.

The difference, of course, is engine management, superior ignition, and super precise fuel injection. That old Holley carburetor would just pour fuel into the intake manifold when you floored it.

And the gearing. Top gear engine rpm at interstate speed is about half what it was in the C2.

After a 5,954 mile road trip from NYC to Las Vegas and back (with stops in Chicago, Omaha, Denver, Breckinridge, Las Vegas, Lake Mead, Grand Canyon, Flagstaff, Sedona, Oklahoma City, Memphis, Nashville, Bowling Green) we averaged 28.3 mpg and 59 mph over the entire trip!

I have a 2015 Z06 manual with Z07 package and stage 3 aero. Last week I drove from Fort Wayne, IN to St. Louis (400 miles). I had it in eco mode and in 7th gear the whole way and kept my foot out of it as far as acceleration. I kept it about 75 - 80 miles per hour. I averaged 21.5 mpg for that 400 miles. That's definitely not my normal driving habits but I wanted to check one time to see what the max mpg was under those conditions. Under my normal driving habits it would have been 16.5 mpg but would have been a more enjoyable drive.

Not sure if this is specific to 2017's, but... although my shift 1-4 message pops up at times, I do NOT need to shift to 4. It will let me move to 3rd gear no problem. 4th gear might be a recommendation, and 2nd is blocked like everyone else. Have you tried going to 3rd or do you go to 4th because the display suggests it? 1st to 3rd gear works much better than a direct 1 to 4, especially on an incline.

2016 z51 A8 here. I have a 35 mile 1 way trip to work (outside D.C.). If I drive sanely in ECO or touring mode, I'm able to get 30+. My best 25mile is showing as 33.1 I believe. Of course it always drops because I end up wanting to play [emoji23]. As others have said, I did not buy this car for fuel economy, but as I plan to use it as an (almost) daily driver, it's nice to know that I'm not taking too much of a hit if I just commute normally. For comparison sake, my 2014 Buick Regal has a 2.0 turbo FWD. I've been averaging low-mid 20's here in VA. If I look at just the 1 way commute and drive sanely, I can get low to mid 30's. Not much worse than the vette and not nearly as fun.

I have a 2017 Corvette Stingray (not Z51) with stickshift and NPP exhaust. I added winglets to my front bumper and it increased 2 mpg on the fwy to 39 mpg at 85mph. I've added yarn strings to the fenders to see why and it seems that the winglets prevent the airflow from going into the wheel well and goes around the wheel along the side of the body.
I've also replaced the heavier runflats with lighter Michelin Sport 4S tires.
