Ron, how old is that paint, it looks like it was sprayed yesterday. It's an awesome reflection!

Seriously, Ronkh... If you're ever in upstate NY I'd pay you or GlenE handsomely to detail my car and to teach me how to use a buffer so I can do it myself. I do everything by hand which doesn't bode well for removing scratches from my daily driver cars. Plus I'm too worried about learning the hard way on the new vette paint.

I checked autogeek and the 6" Griots DA is what I'd get. There are so many pads and backing plates though. Can anyone recommend from autogeek what would be a good backing plate and pads to pair with the 6" Griots, and are appropriate for a novice who's never used a DA or buffer/polisher before?

Lisa, did a deer take off your mirror and crack your door?

Yes it did, it also impaled a chunk of the mirror in Mr.owc6's hand (he was able to duck and cover). We had the top down, and the deer jumped the guardrail on a section of road with no shoulder, took out the mirror, hit the door, and flipped clean over the car, narrowly missing my head (I was driving). It cracked the door basically in half vertically.

We were very lucky.
