I like to check our forum and other vette websites just to see what sort of trends I can find. I am seeing a couple of issues that have had more than a single occurrence. I am throwing them up here so that if anyone here has the same issue we can have it posted in our “issues & resolution” forum. I have spotted a couple of issues that are worrisome.
Base and Z-51 cars are still experiencing problems that require a rear diff replacement. I cannot tell if the cars affected were only those early low VIN cars with low lube or not? From what I’ve read the lack of proper lube level can kill a diff. pretty quickly.

Another issue that I am starting to see is that several owners of manual tranny equipped cars are reporting that their shifter moves hard into neutral as the tranny kicks out of gear. I have not seen follow ups on these reports and will see what happens and follow up here.

Lastly, there seems to be more issues with the infotainment screen going blank. A new owner of a convertible owner has reported issues with his doing this.

Heads Up- Important info.!

This may well be as a result of possible oil starvation issues some of our forum owners have experienced which lead to engine failures. If I find out that this become a TSB it will be posted in the TSB / Recall thread.

"Engine Repair with Crankshaft Replacement
If the crankshaft (Fig. 21) needs to be replaced on 2014-2015 Corvette, Silverado, Sierra; 2015 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon/XL and Escalade models equipped with the 4.3L, 5.3L or 6.2L engine (RPOs L83, L86, LT1, LV3), be sure to follow these guidelines before completing a crankshaft replacement:
• Complete all appropriate Service Information diagnostics to determine that the crankshaft requires replacement.
• If the engine has bearing and crankshaft damage, the engine should be replaced along with the oil cooler.
• On dry sump engines, the oil tank and lines should also be replaced with the engine.
• Follow the latest version of Bulletin #09-06-04-026G to verify that the ECM calibration is not an aftermarket calibration.
• If a Corvette owner prefers to keep the original numbers matching with the engine, call TAC for repair directions."

When I pulled into my garage and applied the main break pedal my Instrument Cluster and Infotainnment screens both went dark although the engine was still running. Later I started the car with dark screens and the screens came back on when I backed over the small bump from my driveway to the street. Anyone else have this problem? A lose connection perhaps? My C7 has 87 miles on it. It is a little spooky to read of all the C7 problems on this forum, to be sure.

I had a similar problem recently. The dealership re-flashed that system and all has been well every since.

Less that 1000 miles and trans problem!
That picture made me glad to have purchased another C6 Z51 Vert private sale (after selling my 05 for a C7).. I will drive the C6 while I wait for the 2016 Mazda MX5 to come out next year.

I have lost confidence in GM or the C7. Waaay too much money to see this many usual issues on a $70,000 car. I just want a reliable two seat roadster. Doesn't have to be a Corvette. Yes I know all cars have issues but GM service is overwhelmed with recalls and issues and people are without their cars for months. IT's a shame. I love my C6. I like the C7 Convertible but I think it need a few years to mature.

That picture would be perfect for a GMPP advertisement. Exposure to all these stories has caused me to commit to buying a GMPP plan for my new C7 due to arrive next month.

Sorry that getting you car fixed has been such a long process, and that it has a way to go. Glad you are getting a brand new roof assembly. Here's to that being the perfect and final solution!

Just had my 2LT Z51 serviced @ 6500 miles. My steering wheel leather was separating, there was a huge bubble under the leather in center of the console and weather strip torn at rear of removable top (body side). The dealer ordered me a new steering wheel, console and weatherstrip. Other than those items, the car was fine.

Tony; I have my eyes peeled to see if there is a TSB on this issue or not. I thought I found one several months ago, but I am not able to locate it again on any of the sites I use to find such things. Be assured, if and when I find it, it will be put it up. On the other hand if you find that there is one that your car is repaired under be sure to let me / us know. I got the impression that the owners I quoted were taken care of by there dealers without a lot of resistance. I don't understand why you are having this problem and why no one has been able to fix it?

Fuel injector and Oil Ring Seal Replacement

I just came across this and am posting it as a heads up. No preliminary or TS bulletins on this condition yet as far as I can tell, but that might change.

Fuel Injector and Oil Ring Seal Replacement

"If Service Information diagnostics indicates a fuel injector may need to be removed for a repair or replaced, such as for a fuel odor or extended cranking condition, on a 2014-2015 Corvette, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe, Sierra, Yukon, or Yukon XL equipped with the 4.3L engine (RPO LV3), 5.3L engine (RPO L83) or 6.2 engine (RPOs L86, LT1, LT4), be sure a new O-ring seal is installed…"

Chip, I THINK I remember seeing someone post that their car is stinking like fuel fumes. I wonder if they have this problem. Let me see if I can find that post...
