Is all the power useable or do you lose some traction with the Z51 tires?

From a standstill no way. With warm OEM tires WOT from 30-40mph...its a rocket!

It's now been almost two months so I thought I would report back on how the car has been performing.

Here is a quick recap.

1. Totally different car! Tons more power under 4000rpm! Boost comes on strong...all the way up to 11-12psi...Throttle response is much improved.
2. No more V4 mode! Don't miss it.
3. After driving it for a month I took it back to Weapon X because of some surging during partial acceleration (50-70%) They were able to adjust some tune parameters and the surging is gone.
4. Going to need bigger tires....lol!
5. Exhaust note is MUCH louder after the blower install!
6. Love the factory look!
7. IAT2/MAT temps are good 120-140..They can reach 150-160 if I have been sitting in traffic or when heavy on the throttle for a long stretch. I'm sure that the fact that there is not much air movement under the hood with the stock stingray hood does not help..I guess this is the inherited heat soak issue from the Z06....Next trip to Weapon X will be for their track attack heat exchanger and expansion tank. (AND...ARH headers!)
8. Had some tuning done on the A8 to delay the upshift to 7th and 8th gear....The car was always hurrying into those gears and then would "bog". Also had the downshift times quickened going from 8-7 and 7-6....Way better! No changes to shift times or pressures.
9. Bought a MMS Mild Z06 catch can/breather....Will work on installing this soon.
10. Bought the insulator sock for the Halltech intake...hope that will help with the IAT temps
11. Had Torque converter tunes to only apply in eighth gear above 70mph....
12. Added a little shout out to Weapon-X!

All in all I have no regrets! An awesome upgrade that I am very happy with!

Looks really good, and really interesting! I'm sure it makes the driving experience more fun.

Very nice managerman. Very nicely done. Looks great the stock look. I have a 2016 Z51 and was thinking of putting a supercharger on it. I was looking at the edelbrock but I sure do like what you have done . I am thinking about doing the same. If I have any questions may I message you? Thanks in advance . I have a 2016 cts-v and want that same feel in my z51

Managerman I fly a Corporate Jet into Columbus all the time and usually get a fair amount of overnights or long days there. I would love to see the car maybe meet for lunch or something.

Would be glad to meet up. Send me a PM when you plan to be in town. Hopefully the weather and the roads will cooperate.

Update:

I wanted to check in and update this thread...I have now passed 25k miles on my car and almost 10k on the supercharger...All is going well. I had a Car "condriac" moment while on vacation a couple months ago, when I believed I was hearing the supercharger much louder than it should be..I was concerned that the Supercharger bearings were going bad. On the way back from vacation I drove right through Cincinnati so I made a pit stop at Weapon X and had "Dr. Ben Herndon" take a listen to see if he heard any unusual bearing noises...He said that all was well...no issues!! I was worried about nothing!! Ben and Blake from Weapon X have been there for me from Day 1 whenever I call them..I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to do any type of performance mods to their Corvette!!

I wanted to mention that over the past few weeks I have been working with Ben Charles AKA "T/A Kid" (he was the first person to do the LT4 blower swap on LT1) on some tuning tweaks and I just want to say that it has been a great experience. He made some very nice refinements to the Engine and Trans tunes. Don't hesitate to look up Ben if you have any tuning needs. He is on Corvette Forum and the HP Tuners Forum. By no means is this any type of knock (no pun intended) on the Weapon X tune...I love those guys!! and I have a long list of more mods I would like them to do during this upcoming "off" season....I just think tuning these cars is 1 part engineering, 1 part experience, and 1 part nuance....It is not an exact science for sure and there are many variables that can be adjusted to make refinements. I am so glad that Ben from Weapon X suggested that I have my own HP Tuner programming interface and software....Well worth the 450.00....

I am headed back down to TN/NC this weekend to run The Tail of the Dragon and the Smoky Mountain Loop...Should be a blast!! I will report back after my trip!
