I have a 16 Z06 with 2K miles on it. It misfires in 3rd gear when rolling it on. The misfire occurs at 5000-5200 RPM and continues until 6000 RPM. The engine must be 100 warmed up at least 200 degree coolant temp for the misfire to occur. I took my dealership's "A" Vette mechanic out with me so he experienced it as well. We finally got a fuel pressure code. The dealership swapped out the high pressure fuel regualator that resides under the intake and blower. The mechanic took it for a road test and the car is still misfiring. They claimed to contact GM and are awaiting GM instructions. My car has been at the dealership for over 3 weeks now, so I am getting tired of not having my car around. The dealership is working with me I feel and is doing what they can I think. I too was worried they might say why are you speeding or driving so fast when the misfire happens. They have been very cool about that understand it is a Z06 not a Chevette.
1. check plugs and see if there is oil on them - sounds like PCV issue

2. Shorten plug gap - ez fix. if that fixes it then it tells you - you have a weak coil. That would not show up in many tests

3. Sounds crazy I know - try the Granatelli wires and coils. You will be surprised

Not sure what your trying to tell us. 258,076 miles is a lot of miles. Then you drop down to 98,833. ??
You are not reading his post correctly. You are missing the spaces between the dates and the mileages.

A lot more information would be helpful for us to help you. Manual or automatic? Happens at all times, or at specific RPM's? Heard more when you add throttle, coast, or all the time? Mileage? Constant or intermittent whining? If you have a manual, does the whining continue when you put the clutch in and are coasting. Any vibrations when driving it? Is this a noise you hear more loudly when you raise the hood with the engine running? (These is a TSB on supercharger pulley problems effecting some cars.)

Your describe this noise as "loud"; can you help us learn how loud, etc, and best of all would be could you video tape that sound and share it with us?

Sorry to ask all these questions, and I am sure more will be asked in subseqent posts, but with your providing us more information we can begin to help answer your primary question (is this normal), and/or start to eliminate potential causes if we feel it is not.

Welcome to our forum N2272L. As elegant suggested in his post, a video would help us respond to try and figure out what the issue is with your Z06, but more importantly, it would be very helpful for you to provide to your service manager when you take it in.

Was this not heard when you test drove the car before final sign off?

Just got my new Z06. I hear a loud whining noise from what I believe is the transmission. Is this normal?
One thing to do immediately is have them check the fluid level of the rear differential.

I just preparing a video to take one off our daily drivers in to the dealer -- to have him find/fix an annoying dash rattle. A good Tech, listening to a video, can immediately rule in and out many things. IMO, your diff is suspect, as is your A8 and your torque converter (based on similar C7 with automatic issues others have had).

Best of luck. Please let us know what your Technician found.

I keep getting an invalid file type message trying to send the video.
Your video has to comply with the types of files accepted by our software: Supported videos include: Hulu YouTube (Long) Vimeo Dailymotion Metacafe Google facebook

N2272L, welcome aboard to SRF and congrats on your new C7 Masterpiece Z06. Hopefully there is nothing wrong, or your dealership takes care of the situation ASAP!

While driving to vacation on the interstate over Labor Day weekend, I stopped at a rest stop. When slowing, I could not shift my 2015 M7 into 5th, 3rd or 2nd gear. When leaving the rest area, I still had no use of these gears. Next morning, leaving my hotel, everything was working again. I thought it might be an overheating issue, but it happened again a couple of days latter at startup. I made an appointment at my dealer, but by the time I got home, it was working fine again. The dealer could find no issues, and no codes were left in the computer (the check engine light was on when I was having problems, but went off when it self-corrected). The dealer says if it happens again when I am in town, stop by and they will try to diagnose. Has anyone else had this issue, or heard of a software patch?

You were locked out of very gear below 5th except for 4th and 1st. That makes me think the error had something to do with CAGS malfunctioning and coming on when it should not have.

You may want to consider pulling up your transmission fluid temperature while driving (I keep my instrument cluster in sport mode. From there, you press left arrow, then down to settings to set either your smaller left or right gauges to transmission fluid temperature). At the rest stop, was it extremely hot, and on startup, extremely cold? And were these temperatures outside of the range of the area that you live in?

Out of curiosity, what was your coolant temperature that made you consider overheating an issue?

Best of luck!
